FACES

I went to FACES on Saturday night. I loved it. It was the best time I have had in a while. Why was it so great you ask? First I went with my girls, Michele, Heather and Jessica. We are all a little crazy, we had such a blast. Second I ran into three different guys that I knew that I hadn't seen in a while. It was so great seeing them. Third, I got like 3 complements on my eye make up and the winning complement of the night was, "You have the cutest nose." That was my favorite, and only at a gay club are you gonna get a complement on your nose! It was great!

Think before you act

So, here at my office we have a reception desk that is supposed to be open for callers from 8-5pm. Well, they have the main receptionist's (R) schedule to work 7:30am-4pm with a half-hour lunch. Then they have 1 guy(S) who works his breaks and from 4-5pm. They have 2 other people(O & L), but they both are off at 4:30pm. So, if this guy takes a vacation or is sick, I get asked to cover it. There are even times when they approve everyone to have the same day off, maybe you should actually pay attention to the schedule and coverage. Just because they request it doesn't mean that they get it, that would be why it is called a REQUEST.

See, back in 2006, I drove to work, I didn't mind working the desk. But, now, 2007, I too ride the RT Train to and from work. If I work that shift, I have to catch the 5:26pm train. That is 30 minutes after I normally get on. I don't care that much, if I have nothing to do. But today I do. I recently received an e-mail that due to the fact that S is sick and R is leaving today at 1pm, that Rebecca, me, is covering the 4-5pm. EXCUSE ME? Are you going to run this by me? It is not in my job description to do this. It is me helping you out. I talked to my boss and apparently she approved it. Um, did you want to run it by me?

I go into her office to talk to her about it, and she throws it in my face that I was 30 minutes late today. Yes, I was late, but first, there was MUCH more traffic and the train was running behind due to the rain factor; it wasn't entirely my fault. Not to mention I only leave 20 mintes earlier than I used too. On normal days I am here a good 10 minutes to 20 mintues early. Some days I am here before anyone else (they are supposed to be here by 7:30am). So my one day late turns into I need to be here on time, and I should stay til 5 to cover and makeup the time. F-you. I have things to do.

I am so happy I took Friday off. I am going to the city with my H.Oney, I can't wait. I need to break from life.

I am not sure how much sense this makes, or if it is in any order, I was just typing, I am so irritated. Sorry, hope it makes sense.
